# Getting started

> Your first steps on TakeProfit: create an account, start a workspace from a template, add and link widgets, find instruments, and secure your account.

Getting started

From sign-up to your first workspace

Create an account with Google, Bybit, or email, pick a workspace template for how you trade, and add the widgets you need. Your workspaces and alerts follow you to your phone.

## Set up in four steps

Four steps take you from a new account to a workspace you can analyze in. Each step links to the details.

    Step 1 of 4
    Create an account
Click Try for Free, or open takeprofit.com/platform and start using it. Sign up with Google, Bybit, or email, then verify your email once.

    Step 2 of 4
    Pick a workspace
Verification opens Create workspace. Pick a template such as Essentials, or start from scratch. You can change everything later.

[Start from scratch](https://takeprofit.com/docs/guide/getting-started/Workspaces.md#start-from-scratch)

    Step 3 of 4
    Add and link widgets
The Add Widgets button opens the Widget Hub. Link widgets on a channel so a new symbol in one of them updates the rest.

[Adding widgets](https://takeprofit.com/docs/guide/getting-started/Widget-Hub.md#adding-widgets-from-widget-hub-to-your-workspace)

[Widget linking](https://takeprofit.com/docs/guide/getting-started/Widget-Hub.md#widget-linking)

    Step 4 of 4
    Find your instruments
Search symbols from any chart, keep the ones you follow in a watchlist, or filter stocks in the screener.

## Get around the platform

## Good to know

* **Google and Bybit sign-ups need no password.** Sign in the same way you registered. Your email is verified once, and after that both routes work.
* **Signing up with Bybit links the exchange.** The connection step is skipped, and you see your [Cashback](https://takeprofit.com/docs/guide/rewards-tools/rebates.md) rate instead.
* **The exchange window can wait.** Without a connected exchange, a connection window opens after sign-up. Close it and [connect later](https://takeprofit.com/docs/guide/trading/exchange-account.md).
* **Your username comes from your email.** Change it anytime in [Profile settings](https://takeprofit.com/docs/guide/getting-started/Profile-settings.md).
* **Workspaces save themselves.** Changes are kept automatically, and you can keep separate workspaces for different markets or strategies.
* **Not sure which template to pick?** Start with Essentials: a watchlist, a chart, Order Entry, and the Account widget on one screen.
